EmergentMeds™ is an on-line, subscription based medication
and equipment calculator designed for the non-emergency medical
community. This up to date program uses the most recent American
Heart Association guidelines for drug dosages, treatment protocols,
and equipment recommendations. This program takes the stress
of on the fly drug calculations at the patient’s bedside
out of the equation of patient care.
Subscribers
log into EmergentMeds™ and enter basic patient specific
information such as age and weight. EmergentMeds™ then
provides the clinician with a complete list of the most common
treatment protocols, medication indications and dosages, and
equipment needs for that specific patient. These recommendations
can then be printed and attached to the patients chart for
reference in the event of an
adverse reaction or un-anticipated medical emergency.
Who should use EmergentMeds™ Any clinical setting can
use this web-based program. The most common users include
dental practices when performing conscious sedation procedures,
out patient surgery centers, urology and endoscopy labs. The
program can be used on all patients, or only high risk patient
populations.
What about patient confidentiality? EmergentMeds™ is
HIPAA compliant. No patient information is stored in this
program. Information is sent to your office PC via a secure
connection that is pass word protected. No patient information
is retained on our servers. Once the EmergentMeds™ clinical
recommendations are printed, they can either become part of
the patient’s record or disposed of in accordance with
your practices policy.
